Help Needed for Lucy Lou!

(Spay/Neuter/Vaccinations)
Lucy Lou September 3, 2012: Lucy Lou is in the process of being adopted!!!

July 11, 2012: Just wanted to update everyone that Lucy Lou is doing much much better!!! Her skin is much better and her hair is growing back. The meds and treatment are working!! Thank you to everyone that helped donate to her care. She has another recheck in a month and hopefully by then we can stop the medication and she will be ready to go to a loving home. Thank you to the foster home that is giving her a wonderful place to get better :)

July 4, 2012 Update: Lucy Lou had another vet check and the vet has extended the medication treatment because her skin is still itchy. But, the skin is looking better.

June 29, 2012 Update:
Lucy Lou is now in foster care. She is being cared for 24/7, which includes several rounds of medication every day to help take care of her medical needs. We are so grateful for our foster homes for all they do for pets like this. Lucy Lou was in so much discomfort when she came to us, it is heartwarming to see her now in loving hands and feeling better. It will still be weeks before all of her medical treatments are done, her fur grows back, and her ears look more normal. But, she is on the road to recovery. Thank you to everyone that has helped by donating to her care. We couldn't do what we do without you!

June 27, 2012 Update:
Lucy Lou visited our Wellness center the other day and the skin is looking better, far less inflamed. She will need another recheck in two weeks but it looks like the medications are working!

June 20, 2012:
Lucy Lou came to us in very tough shape. She is a victim of this economy and the inability of her owners to care for her. Lucy Lou is a sweet 7 year old chocolate lab suffering from several treatable medical issues. She has flea dermititis which has resulted in significant hair loss. She has severe ear infections with discharge, she has a urinary tract infection causes her to have discomfort when she goes to the bathroom and blood in her urine. And that is just upon initial medical exam. She will need weeks of medical treatment, a foster home to give her a special bath every 3 days, and lots of love. We are hoping that further tests do not show more, but she has some discomfort in her abdominal and shows signs of having multiple litters of puppies.

Lucy LouLucy LouImmediately upon intake into our shelter she received a bath and fast acting flea medication to get rid of the fleas and stop the discomfort from them. She was immediately examined by our wellness center and has begun treatment for the initial issues found. More tests will be done in the next day or two. She will be going into one of our wonderful foster homes in the next day or so so she can be closely monitored.

We need your help to help us cover all the medical bills and medications that it will take to get her well again and be able to be put up for adoption.
