Before
you adopt...take a moment to think over these
questions.
Second Chance cats are currently residing in our East Brookfield
shelter or in foster homes in South Central Massachusetts. For
information on our policies and fees, visit the policies
page. If you are interested in adopting one of our lovely
cats, please submit an adoption application.
Please note that our adoption process is run mostly by our very hard working dedicated volunteers. All adoption applications are processed as quickly as possible. We have this process to ensure that our cats get the best possible home and that we can help you to find your new feline companion. Our love and dedication is to ensure that the cat, and the new loving family, have a lifelong happy match. We are always full to capacity with cats so if we do get multiple applications on a single cat and the cat your interested in gets adopted by someone ahead of you, there are many more needy cats always coming through our doors. We encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible, even if you don't see what you are looking for on our web site, because cats come in daily and your new best friend may walk through the door tomorrow. We hope that you understand how unique and wonderful this process is in doing our very best for our shelter cats. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We want you to have a wonderful new best friend and we will spend the time with the cat, and you to ensure this happy match. Please see our Happy Endings section to see how this wonderful process has made so many lifelong happy endings.
Pictures
of our adoptable animals can also be viewed at Sturbridge
Veterinary Hospital in Sturbridge, Southbridge Vet in Southbridge, and the Sturbridge and
Ware Wal-Marts as part of the Very Best Pet Network program.

Kittens
are born year round. Those at at Second Chance will find
loving homes, but many others will not because there are
just too many. Second Chance offers low
cost spay/neuter programs.
Help stop the cycle! Please spay or neuter your cats!

Rick Needs a Special Home!
Rick said today that he has never thought about anything he CAN'T do, but every day he finds new things he CAN do, today he climbed to the TOP of his flower tree, he says tomorrow that he will do it while chasing his sister Rachel!!
Rick is a very special little guy. When Rick came to us he had a severely deformed front leg which was determined needed to be amputated. During that surgery it was also discovered that Rick has no rib cage protecting his heart. Even with all this he is thriving and loving life. We are hoping to find a very special home for this amazing kitten. He has only a few special requirements, one is that he is in a quiet home with no young children as he needs to be handled gently. He also needs to be adopted with his sister Rachel to whom he is very attached, and there can be no other animals in the home. Rick is able to run, jump, play, roll around and be a normal kitten in every way, he seems not to know that he is 'disabled'. His personality is
amazing. He is incredibly lovable and sweet, he adores being pat and talked to. He is active and playful as well. It's so heartwarming
and uplifting to see this kitten with so many 'issues' live his life to it's absolute fullest, and with such a positive attitude. If you
have room in your heart to give this beautiful kitty the safe, loving home he and his sister need and so deserve please fill out an
application and we can arrange for you to meet him and Rachel. You will absolutely fall in love!!!
Please help us cover Rick's surgical costs by making a donation via PayPal or by mail: Second Chance Animal Shelter, PO Box 136, 111 Young Road, E. Brookfield, MA 01515!
